After a two week break Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th May sees the British Hillclimb Championship (BHC), presented by Avon Tyres, and the class based Championship, the BHC Cup, presented by Classic Car Insurance Broker Footman James, burst back into action with a “double header” weekend at Gurston Down Hillclimb in Wiltshire. The two days are completely separate events with drivers therefore having four points scoring opportunities over the weekend. Gurston is therefore a vitally important Championship weekend and is likely to go a long way in shaping the season ahead.
The double header weekend guarantees a high quality entry list, with all of the top contenders for both the BHC and BHC Cup competing. Defending Champion and 2023 BHC Championship leader Wallace Menzies is sure to be at the sharp end with second place Matt Ryder and third place Scott Moran looking to push him hard as they wrestle for the overall Championship lead. The top contenders in the class based BHC Cup will be looking to score heavily with joint leaders Allan McDonald Force SR4 Sports Racing Car and Johnathen Varley GWR Predator - TKD V8 Single Seater Race Car sure to be ones to watch.
Competitive action is scheduled to start at 8.30am on both days and will continue for the majority of the day.
