Matt
RYDER
#1
Matt Ryder is the man of the moment in British hillclimbing. Ryder carries the #1 on his GR59 Gould for the second season and will be seeking the 2026 title to complete his BHC treble.
If Ryder gets near to his 2025 peak - he could be untouchable...

wallace
menzies
#2
Four-time BHC Champion Wallace Menzies had a strong title-tilt in 2025. To improve on his #2 ranking, Wallace will need to come out of the blocks fast to lay down a marker early doors. Is the drive to five on in 2026? Hard to bet against it!

Will
HALL
#3
2025 saw Will Hall equal his best BHC season. Led the championship very early on last year, and the Gould driver has all the tools to challenge for his first title. Early wins would build the confidence for the number #3 seed - watch him fly in 2026.

Sean
GOULD
#4
After a seventh place finish in 2024, Gould took a big step forward in 2025. Sharing his car with Matt Ryder - Sean goes well at the fast hills - and run off wins can never be discounted especially at Shelsley. If a full campaign can be put together a top five in the series is always on the cards.

Trevor
WILLIS
#5
Three-time BHC Champion Trevor Willis can never be discounted in his OMS28. Despite less power in the older OMS, a run-off victory or two and another top five position overall would be a good result in 2026. Still holds the Bouley Bay record which has stood for 10 years!

Dave
UREN
#6
Dave Uren has all the ingredients to challenge for run off wins. Dave will be looking to build on last season’s 6th place finish, challenge for more podiums and perhaps a top five finish in the overall standings in 2026.

ALEX
SUMMERS
#7
Previous Champion - Alex Summers enjoyed a part-season in the BHC last year - but still managed to trouble the establishment. You can never discount Alex!
As well as competing in the DJ for the championship, we will hopefully see him out in his self-designed, developed and constructed AFS P4FT single-seater at some point too.

Alex
COLES
#8
The little car that could!
Alex Coles is fast and can peddle the little Force single-seater. Taking his first top-ten finish in the standings in 2025, Coles will be out to repeat the achievement in 2026 in the 1.3l turbo-charged machine. If Alex's prayers to the rain gods come to fruition - expect to see him giant kill on the hills again this season.

Jack
Cottrill
#9
2024 was a breakthrough year for Jack Cottrill in his Cosworth engined DJ Dallara. He finished the season in a well-deserved ninth position - an achievement he backed up in 2025 with another fine drive to ninth. If Jack can bring consistency and a larger programme of events - a movement up the rankings is well and truly doable.

Paul
Haimes
#10
A bigger supporter of the BHC and a popular figure in the paddock, Paul Haimes will be looking to finish in the overall top ten of the BHC for a sixth successive season. Paul will be looking to start the season on the front foot and aiming for big points hauls at a few targeted hills in 2026.
