The Inaugural Esport Championship: Watch on April 10th

The British Hillclimb Championship (BHC), presented by Avon Tyres, wants to build on its incredible 75 years of history and this year we are bringing you the first ever virtual championship. With the rise of racing simulators and their increasing usage in Motorsport we believe it is time to start the official BHC Esport Championship.

The inaugural championship is brought to you by McEntee Racing who will be trackside at selected BHC events throughout the season giving all fans the chance to drive on their racing simulators. The fan who sets the fastest time at the end of the 2022 season will have the chance to drive a 200bhp Hillclimb car in their very own private test. Look out for the team’s gazebo on the hills this year.

The April 10th Esport championship event features ten of the very best sim racers, with a mixture of fans and fulltime drivers all vying for the championship trophy. The event, which will be brought to you with live commentary, will feature highlights of an incredible shootout which saw an insane battle for the top three spots contested by some very well-known current Hillclimb drivers including recent BHC Cup, presented by Footman James, class champion and 2021 European Hillclimb Masters qualifier, Tom Weaver. The drivers all took to Cadwell Park circuit in an attempt to set the fastest time of the day. There were thrills and spills and pre-event favourite Ben Stephenson, who drives an Empire EVO 2 in the BHC, was looking to break his existing world record time at the circuit. It was great to see a large range of drivers with multiple genders and ages competing.

To watch the first ever event simply check out the BHC Facebook and website on Sunday April 10th and you will find the full highlights video to watch. Likewise, to keep up with all the sim racing action follow McEntee Racing online. We hope to see everyone for the BHC season opener in Prescott and are hoping that the Esport Championship elevates the excitement and competition going into this historic 75th year of the British Hillclimb Championship.
