Round 1 at Prescott POSTPONED due to extreme wet weather

Following the extreme wet weather over the winter months, we have taken the unfortunate decision, in liaison with Championship Co-ordinators from both the British and Midland Hill Climb Championships, to postpone the April Meeting at Prescott Speed Hill Climb.
We appreciate this decision will cause disappointment, but would like to reassure everyone that it has not been taken lightly.
Considering the importance of this event being the opening round of both the British and Midland Hill Climb Championships and having assessed the ground conditions in conjunction with the long-range weather forecast, we felt there was no choice other than to postpone the meeting.
The new rescheduled date has been set for 17th & 18th August.
All Competitors and General Admission ticket holders have automatically been transferred to this new date and notified directly of this change.
We thank everyone for their understanding and support in these unfortunate circumstances.

From what I’ve read, the heavy rain across the UK made it impossible to run the event properly, and with something like hill climbing, even a small issue with grip or track condition can make a huge difference . It’s probably disappointing for both drivers and spectators, especially since this is usually one of the key opening rounds of the season, but at least rescheduling it means the event still goes ahead rather than being cancelled completely. In a way, it just shows how much…
